Escape Room FAQ

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about escape rooms, bookings, age recommendations, group sizes, vouchers, and Final Escape.

Escape Rooms at Final Escape Rostock

At Final Escape Rostock, you’ll experience one of five stories right at the city harbor. As wizard apprentices, you’ll search for Balthazar’s wand in the forbidden library, pass a pirate test on a cursed wreck, sneak into the Palace of the Magic Lamp, escape the executioner’s dungeon, or stop a nuclear command in the bunker.

You’ll come to our branch at Warnowufer 60, at the Hafenterrassen in the city harbor. The Game Master will welcome you, explain the story and rules, and then you’ll have 60 minutes for your mission. At the end, there’s a debriefing and, if you like, a group photo looking back at your escape.

The playing time in all Rostock rooms is 60 minutes. With check-in, introduction, and wrap-up, you should plan for about 90 minutes in total.

All five Rostock rooms are designed for two to six people. If you book several rooms in parallel, up to 30 people can play at the same time.

No, in Rostock, Final Escape is at one location: Warnowufer 60, 18057 Rostock, right at the city harbor. Other locations in Germany include Berlin, Bremen, Erfurt, Flensburg, Kiel, and Lübeck, and in Switzerland, Basel and Zurich.

Directions and Surroundings

The nearest tram stop is Kabutzenhof, served by Line 5, which is about a 6-minute walk away. Alternatively, take Lines 1, 3, 5, or 6 to Doberaner Platz and walk for about 10 minutes. From Warnemünde, take the S-Bahn to the main station and change to Line 5 there.

The most convenient place to park is in the Hafenterrassen underground car park (Am Warnowufer 58), right next door. There are more parking spaces along the city harbor. During the Hanse Sail, many of these are closed, so it’s better to plan on using the bus or train.

Right outside the door is the Stadthafen (city harbor) with its promenade, the Old Town with the Kröpelin Gate is within walking distance, and in the KTV district, you’ll find many cafes and pubs. By S-Bahn, you can reach the beach in Warnemünde in about 20 minutes.

Final Escape Rostock

Definitely. If the weather at the beach isn’t cooperating, an escape room at the city harbor is the perfect indoor activity for families, couples, and groups of friends. From Warnemünde, you can get to the city quickly by S-Bahn. However, try to book as early as possible on rainy days and during high season, as our rooms are particularly popular then.

Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes are ideal. In some Rostock rooms, you may have to crawl or climb in places, so clothes that allow freedom of movement and can get a little dirty are the best choice.

Difficulty and Player Experience

Yes, all rooms in Rostock can be played without prior experience. More important than prior knowledge are curiosity, a keen eye, and good communication within the team.

For starters, we recommend The Magic School or The Magic Lamp. Both are atmospheric and varied, but not scary. If you like it more exciting, choose The Ghost Ship. If you’re unsure, we’ll be happy to advise you at 0381 260 504 10 or by email at rostock@final-escape.de.

There isn’t a fixed scale. The Magic School and The Magic Lamp are a good start; The Executioner and Operation Bunker challenge you more with time pressure and a dense atmosphere. How difficult it feels depends mainly on your team’s coordination.

Yes, your Game Master is with you via video the entire time and will give you a hint as soon as you get stuck. This often happens in line with the story, sometimes even in character.

When time is up, the game is over, but no one leaves without a resolution. Together with the Game Master, you’ll go through the remaining puzzles and find out how your story would have ended.

No, special athletic ability isn’t necessary. However, in some Rostock rooms, you’ll have to crawl or climb in places. If that’s difficult for someone, let us know in advance and we’ll recommend a suitable room.

Safety and Well-being

The doors of our Rostock rooms are locked with electromagnets, but there’s an emergency button next to every door that you can use to open them at any time. In the event of a power failure, the doors release automatically. If the button is pressed, the game ends for everyone. If only one person wants to step out briefly, let the Game Master know, and the rest can continue playing.

Every game in Rostock is supervised by a Game Master, who keeps an eye on your room via video at all times and can intervene whenever necessary.

That depends on the room. The Executioner, set in the dungeon of a blood order, relies on a dark, tense atmosphere. The Magic School, The Magic Lamp, and The Ghost Ship are adventures for the whole group, while Operation Bunker thrives primarily on time pressure.

That depends on the room, as some Rostock rooms involve climbing or crawling, and some contain startling effects. Talk to us before booking, and we’ll recommend a suitable room for you. For health-related questions, please clear your participation with a doctor beforehand.
