Escape Room FAQ

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about escape rooms, bookings, age recommendations, group sizes, vouchers, and Final Escape.

Escape Rooms at Final Escape Kiel

At Final Escape Kiel, our largest location, you can choose from nine stories. Follow the trail of a lost expedition into the pyramid, escape from a high-tech prison in 2098, enter Freddy Krueger’s dream world, or go on a secret tour through the New York of superheroes. This way, every group finds its theme, from family adventure to horror.

You’ll arrive at our branch at Küterstraße 14, directly on Alter Markt. As soon as you enter, you’ll immerse yourself in the world of Final Escape. The Game Master will explain the story and rules, then you’ll have 60 minutes for your mission. Finally, there’s the debriefing and, if desired, a group photo.

The playing time in all Kiel rooms is 60 minutes. Including check-in, introduction, and debriefing, you should allow approximately 90 minutes in total.

Most Kiel rooms are designed for two to six people. You play Fluch des Pharao with six to twelve people, ideal for large groups. Up to 60 people can play simultaneously with us.

No, in Kiel, Final Escape is at one location: Küterstraße 14, 24103 Kiel, directly on Alter Markt. Other locations in Germany include Berlin, Bremen, Erfurt, Flensburg, Lübeck, and Rostock, and in Switzerland, Basel and Zurich.

Directions and Surroundings

Nearby stops are Martensdamm (lines 11, 12, 13, 50, 51, 81, 91 and X60) as well as Bootshafen and Holstenbrücke. From the main station, take lines 32, 41, 42 or 61 two stops to Bootshafen. It’s about a 15-minute walk through Holstenstraße.

The closest parking is Q-Park Altstadt at Flämische Straße 15, about a 2-minute walk and open 24/7. Street parking in the old town is subject to fees and scarce, so it’s better to allow some buffer time if you’re coming by car.

Right outside the door begins Holstenstraße, Kiel’s shopping mile, and in a few minutes, you’ll be at the Kiellinie and the fjord. Around the Alter Markt, there are numerous restaurants for an evening after the game.

Only in Kiel

Yes, you can experience four of our adventures exclusively at Final Escape in Kiel. In Fluch des Pharao, 6 to 12 people search for a lost expedition in a pyramid and must temporarily split into teams. Superhero Saga takes you on a tour through New York to the secret favorite spots of superheroes. In Prison Break Revolutions, you wake up in a high-tech prison in 2098 and plan your escape. Those with strong nerves can face a nightmare in the Escape Room Der Albtraum, from which there is only one way out. For fans of these four games, there’s no way around Küterstraße at Final Escape.

Yes, you can also play with us during Kiel Week. Since the city center is very crowded during this time, we recommend booking early and allowing a little more time for travel. An Escape Room is a good break from the hustle and bustle before heading back to the Kiellinie.

Booking and Preparation

Yes, it’s best to book online in advance. The calendar directly shows you which rooms are available for your desired date. Demand is particularly high on weekends, during school holidays in Schleswig-Holstein, and during Kiel Week.

Difficulty and Player Experience

Yes, all rooms in Kiel can be played without prior experience. More important than prior knowledge are curiosity, close observation, and good team communication.

For beginners, we recommend Der Henker. If you are unsure, we would be happy to advise you at 0431 556 020 10 or via email at kiel@final-escape.de.

We do not have a fixed scale or difficulty levels. Der Henker is particularly beginner-friendly. Since each team works together differently and each person brings their own strengths, the difficulty is perceived very individually.

Yes, your Game Master is with you via video the entire time and will give you a hint as soon as you get stuck. This often happens in line with the story, sometimes even in character.

When time is up, the game is over, but no one leaves without a resolution. Together with the Game Master, you’ll go through the remaining puzzles and find out how your story would have ended.

No, special athleticism is not necessary. However, in some Kiel rooms, you will have to climb in places. If this is difficult for someone, please let us know in advance, and we will recommend a suitable room.

Safety and Well-being

The doors of our Kiel rooms are locked with electromagnets, but next to each door there is an emergency button that you can use to open them at any time. In case of a power outage, the doors automatically unlock. If the button is pressed, the game ends for everyone. If only one person needs to leave briefly, inform the Game Master, and the rest will continue playing.

Every game in Kiel is supervised by a Game Master, who monitors your room continuously via video and can intervene at any time.

Der Albtraum is our scariest room and more for older players. Der Henker works with an exciting atmosphere, but there are no big jump scares. The Puppenspieler, Superhero Saga, Die Zauberschule, Sherlock Holmes, and Das Geisterschiff, on the other hand, focus on adventure.

That depends on the room, as some Kiel rooms involve climbing, and some contain scary effects. Please contact us before booking, and we will recommend a suitable room. For health-related questions, please consult a doctor before participating.
